Thank Our Lucky Stones Book Launch

Thank Our Lucky Stones
Author Mary McGillis and Bette Midler share a moment at the book launch of McGillis’ new book Thank Our Lucky Stones

Huge thanks to all who came out to support author Mary and purchase a copy of  the book … a grand time was had by all and Thank Our Lucky Stones is officially here! Thanks to Susan for the lovely space to launch, Sandy Turner for the awesome treats, Mary Marsden and Dr. Sharp for the magnificent daffodils and spreading the joy, and special, special thanks to the beautiful, steadfast, lovely, gloriously Bette Midler, Betty Crocker friend who does everything for helping to prepare, to set up, to be the hostess with the mostest, the divine Mrs. Barbara J. Bird. Wasn’t that a party!

Thank Our Lucky Stones was launched in the charming Village of Lakefield, Ontario at Happenstance Books & Yarns (thank you SO much, proprietor Susan Twist!) on a lovely day in May (Mother’s Day to be exact!). Cassis Bistro, a five star French bistro and a stone’s throw away, catered a selection of delicious desserts and a sweet and tarty cranberry lemonade. Mary Marsden, of local horticulture fame, had taken Mary McGillis out to Dr. Sharp’s daffodil field the day before and they had handpicked dozens of daffodils for the mothers and others who came to visit!
